The notion that this was their way of celebrating this holiday was perfect for Galen. It really eliminated the process of formalities and concern that something was done incorrectly. It was for them, and them alone. That was something that Galen could truly enjoy. "Just right," Galen echoed. "Just as everything else, this is for us." He nodded, feeling the revitalized connection to Leia.
As Leia took her time unwrapping the gift that Galen did such a poor job on wrapping, he found himself enjoying watching her more and more. The way she neatly removed the paper showed for the patience that she had. Then the reveal of the book where Leia immediately started flipping the pages, with a smile on her face. With the notion he had thought well, was rewarding enough. "I'm glad you like it.." Galen whispered while he shifted his weight while diving into the more... intimate gift. Something that was mean more with beauty and refinement. Watching Leia open it, and turn the stem over as the light shimmered through it, he couldn't help but appreciate the way she looked at it. Sure, there was emotion there between them - Galen wasn't even sure he'd call it love. Starkiller wasn't sure he knew what love was. How did you define that emotion. The truth was in the symbolic gesture of what the flower could mean, and that this woman here was the woman that he would want to give something to, compared to not. Feeling her lips on his cheek made Galen perk up a bit, and equally respond fondly to the way her fingers touched him. Looking to Leia, with a warm smile he nodded the slightest. "I'm very pleased you like it."
Then she was gone. Galen missed the warmth of her touch immediately, but she had returned with her own gifts to him. Galen took the large box, which actually had some heft to it. Making a similar attempt to open the gift as Leia, was lost with in a moment. The patience of slowly tearing at the edges to slowly unwrap the gift was turned to a satisfying ripping open the gift. The first tear of the paper revealed the crest he had learned of not so long ago. His crest. Stopping almost in place, his fingers touched the top as he took a moment to appreciate what he was looking at, then he was back at tearing to get the beautiful chest. Setting the chest down, listening to Leia's explanation, her words were heard and he'd test how he felt. Here in Starklandia, he felt mostly comfortable, but leaving his light sabers in the box while at home, well that would be wise. A safe place where they could sit until he had use for them.
Galen tested this out. Opening the box to see the inside, he detached both lightsabers from his belt and laid them in the chest where it was perfect fit. The Force did guide them. With a soft smile, he closed the lid. "Leia, it's perfect." He whispered while moving onto her second gift for him. Tearing into it, revealing the gloves Galen smiled. Pulling them on he tested the feel of them. They fit well and felt like they had a solid grip. They'd surely keep his hands warmer than they normally would have been. Placing the gloves on top of the chest, Galen turned his full focus on Leia. "These are incredible." Then he leaned forward a little with a little slide to get closer. Letting his mouth land on hers, he pressed a kiss to her lips.
Breaking away, he took her hand in his. "Thank you, Leia."
