Who: Doctors Ten, Thirteen, & Rose Tyler
What: A meeting & an adventure!
When: After this
Where: Courtyard, then the door!
Rating: Low
Status: Incomplete

Rose was beyond excited as she made her way to the town square, wondering what this new Doctor would look like. She almost hoped there were other people around so she could try and guess which person was the new Doctor. She imagined all the faces, hair colors, and little nuances that might have changed and wondered if she would know it was him. She wondered if he had finally gotten his wish and become ginger. There seemed to be a lot of regenerations between Ten and Thirteen and she wanted to hear about all of them! Whether Thirteen would want to indulge and share was another story.

What Rose hadn't prepared herself for was the person who was standing by the well. Because he was a she. It was enough to make her stop and watch her for a moment, wondering if maybe the Doctor had actually wandered off. But the longer she watched the woman, the more she began to wonder...was this the Doctor?! She had always assumed the Doctor would always regenerate as a man because...well, as far as she knew, he always had! But that didn't mean it wasn't possible.

She craned her neck as she watched the woman look about, a curiosity about her that screamed Doctor. Rose couldn't help but smile as she watched her look down the well, pulling out...wait, was that a sonic screwdriver?! It was the Doctor! Rose made her way over, giving her a bit of a wave. "Hello!" She grinned, not sure if she should introduce herself or give this woman a hug. "Are you...are you Thirteen?"

Everything about this place was...off. The Doctor couldn't quite put her finger on why, but something about the way the air tasted and the way the ground felt under her boots felt manufactured. And this was from a woman who'd lived on a time-traveling space ship most of her life. But, so far, her sonic only picked up traces of the ordinary. Ordinary rocks. Ordinary bush. Ordinary water in the well. She was almost disappointed by it.

Then a voice interrupted her investigation, a voice that almost caused her to drop the sonic, dropping it then catching it quickly before it was gone forever in the depths below. She let out a sigh of relief then looked up over the edge of it to see a face she'd long thought lost to time. And her smile slowly grew wide, something lighting up in her eyes as she stepped around the well and made her way over quickly.

"Rose Tyler!!" She hugged the girl without even asking twice, maybe a little too tightly. And then, just as suddenly, the Doctor was pulling back and staring at her. "I was afraid you wouldn't recognize the new look. Like it?" She stepped back and looked down, grinning and holding her hands out to the side a little for full effect. "Hope you don't think the coat's too much. I like the coat. Lots of pockets- how did you ever make do without large enough pockets???"

She barely gave Rose enough time to respond, walking back up to her and peering around, expecting to see herself at any moment. "Where's am I? I mean other me? Ten. Does he know we're calling him Ten?" She hadn't had the chance to talk to him since he agreed to meet. She was just going to assume it was alright.

"Anyway, you really do look brilliant. It's been so long since I've seen such a familiar face." There was a bit of melancholy in her voice. She'd seen and experienced a lot over the centuries. Lots of joy, but also so much loss. And many faes she thought she'd never see again.

Rose's eyes grew a bit wide as the Doctor hugged her and she couldn't help but grin, giving her a quick hug in return before looking her over. She was so familiar that Rose found herself grinning, giving her a nod of approval. "Lookin' good Doctor!" But she had always thought the Doctor looked good. "I didn't know you could be..." she waved her hand up and down at her. "You know...a girl!" Her eyes grew a bit wide. "Not that that's a bad thing! Just surprising, you know?" Or maybe she didn't? But she had to remember this was the first time being a girl, right?

"How come you always have such a great fashion sense? Is it your otherworldly travels that make it so?" She grinned, showing her the tiny pockets she had in her pair of jeans. "Welcome to being a girl," she said with a shrug of her shoulders. Some people thought it was a conspiracy that women had smaller pockets than men, but Rose figured it was because women liked to wear tighter pants.

Rose looked around them as she mentioned Ten as if he would magically appear when his name was called. "I dunno," she said, another shrug at her new Doctor. "Knowing him, he probably got sidetracked because he saw something out of the ordinary or interesting." Which was hard for Rose to understand as this town seemed to be fairly boring. A lot of the rooms were empty and there didn't seem to be any sort of shoppes, save for a coffee place. And that even seemed a bit dodgey.

She turned to look at her, a sorta sad smile on her face as she talked about familiar faces. Rose knew that the Doctor would always have other companions, s/he needed them. After meeting Sarah Jane, Rose had come to believe that she was going to, somehow, be that companion for as long as she could. And then the Dalek attack had happened and Bad Wolf Bay; as soon as she had tried to get into a normal routine, she knew that she had to find a way back to her Doctor. She bit down on her bottom lip, unsure if Thirteen would actually tell her anything.

"Doctor...do I ever find you? I know about timelines and everything, but seeing as we're here and Ten's here...I thought you could just answer that." She looked at her, maybe giving her a bit of a puppy dog eye.

"Right??? Well, I have to be reminded sometimes. A lot of the time, actually." The Doctor frowned a little at the notion. She'd had to deal with some pretty annoying comments and the whole being accused of a witch by James I thing, but besides that, she was getting used to the idea. "My first time, actually. Well. Sort of. Long story, maybe we'll have time to tell ya." She smiled, realizing 10 never had gone over half his adventures in the time they'd traveled together.

The Doctor laughed. "Nah. Just instinct, I guess. I REALLY liked the coat. And boots!" She held up one for Rose to see before putting it back down to avoid losing her balance.

"You're probably right. I've been staying in one spot, waiting for myself but I'm taking a long time. Was I always so late?" She made a face. Not that she was so punctual now, but it was annoying to wait. Not her favorite thing.

Then Rose asked that question and the Doctor's shoulders tensed. She stared at Rose as if making a hard decision. How to explain.

"You know I can't tell you that Rose. If you go back...." She hesitated. She hadn't remembered any of this from her time as 10, so she didn't even know if this was all from the same universe. But, still.

"Spoilers." She smiled sadly, referencing River's old go-to. Oh, did Rose even know about River Song? Probably not. That seemed sad. Rose would have loved River.

It was a brand new Doctor, but, in a way, Rose could still see that it was him. Her. Her mannerisms were so familiar and Rose didn't feel that awkwardness she was worried about meeting another Doctor, especially one from the future. And the most important issue had been addressed; she definitely remembered Rose. She had been terrified that she would become one of the forgotten, but she should have known better; while the Doctor may get swept up with their adventures at the moment, they would never truly forget their companions that traveled with them.

"I wouldn't say late," Rose mused, a cheeky grin spreading across her face. "But you're definitely a wanderer. I'm sure he just saw something interesting and went on his own mini-adventure. Although, we should probably time him. If he's not here, we might have to send out a search party." For once, Rose didn't mind that the Doctor had gone on his own adventure. It gave her a chance to meet this Doctor, get to know her. Maybe try and get some information from Thirteen...

Except it seemed that she wasn't budging on the whole 'let me tell you your future'. Which...Rose could understand. She didn't necessarily like it (as she was sure the face she was making indicated), but she could understand. "Alright," she mumbled, not liking the idea of her going back. At least not alone. The whole reason she had left in the first place was to try and find the Doctor and now she had two. Despite the improbability of this exact situation, they didn't seem to be in any danger of bad things happening, so she was going to enjoy this for as long as she possibly could. She knew the Doctors wouldn't be along the same mind frame, eager to find a way out and to right this wrong.

"Have you been through the doorway Doctor? I've only read about it, but they sound...weird." Rose still felt a bit unsure going in without any sort of weapon, but knew the Doctors would probably prefer it that way; she had just gotten so used to her training with U.N.I.T. that she felt a little exposed not having something to protect herself. Before, she had been fine with the Doctor doing it, but being away from him, she had to figure things out for herself. And, unfortunately, weapons were the best fit.

"It'll kinda be like old times, yeah?" She grinned, turning her thoughts from having to tell them that she used a weapon for her mode of defense. "So...if you won't tell me about my future, can you tell me about yours? What have you been up to?" She pulled herself up to sit on the edge of the well, her heels kicking against the stone.

She just nodded, remembering somewhat it was like to be 10. Definitely a lot of running and exploring. Oh, the stories she had as 10. Rose knew most of them. Well, sort of. "I liked to explore- still do! I think I always will, no matter what else changes." She paused, considering. "It's odd, you know. Changing so much. All the people are still in your head, flushing about and the memories of those past selves are still there. I suppose it's like growin' up. 'Cept when it's growin' down. Oh, you have loved my 11th!"

She was already going off and smiling again as Rose settled on the well. What to say? Could it hurt? She supposed not, really. "Just promise no telling other me, okay?"

Once she was sure Rose would keep the secret, 13 grinned and started. "Well, my eleventh form was younger- big chin, floppy hair, and I went through a bowtie phase. Which was really cool, by the way. 'Course then there were the angels- you've never met the angels have you? Probably for the best. But you would have loved Amy and Rory! I traveled with them for years, practically watched 'em grow up. Well, literally watched Amy grow up. Sort of."
