Who: The whole town. Yes, you too.
What: The Great Snowball War of 2k19
Where: The whole town
When: December 1

She had heard a great deal about this snow ball game that was going to be played and Nebula was ready for it, had been since it had first been explained to her by Sirius. But apparently they had needed to wait until there was enough snow for such a thing? Though how much snow was enough was not something she had understood, what made for enough? These were all questions she still had.

But the town had been covered in a blanket of snow over the last several weeks, with large piles of it build up along the edges of town as well as butted up against their houses where the snow had been blown during the days where it had been windier than others. And it seemed that they had finally reached that point of enough, though she saw no particular difference in the amount compared to some other days. This would be her first time though so she supposed that she could allow the others to decide when it was ready for their game.

And so there they were ready for the snowball game, teams dividing up, some playing individually, and others pairing up, as she and Remus planned to do - it was time for a great battle.

Diego was more or less minding his own business. He was gathering an arsenal of snowballs in a variety of sizes. Some people he'd be gentle with, others not so much. He was busy, and focused, and while he was aware of the snowball that fell short, he didn't pay it any mind. Most people didn't have dead accurate aim like he did.

But then a second snowball collided with the back of his head, and he was on his feet, turning around to confront the thrower. He wasn't angry, not really. It would be silly to get angry about something like snowballs, when he was out here gathering up his own arsenal. But he was annoyed that someone got the jump on him, and more so that there was no one there who obviously threw it.

That lead Diego to think it must have been one of his brothers. Probably not Ben. Which meant... "Klaus!" Diego hollered. "I know it was you!" He'd feel foolish if he was wrong, but he was reasonably sure he wasn't wrong. He took off, abandoning his stash, looking for his brother.

Oh yeah he'd definitely hit him, Klaus didn't even have to look and see to know that his aim had been perfect the second time. And you know it was fair, he saw Diego crouched over building his own stash of snowballs so if he wanted to throw one at him he was allowed, and as his brother he was allowed even more. So he didn't feel bad about it for even a second.

What he hadn't expected as for Diego to suddenly shout his name though, or that he knew it had been him - it should have taken him a little longer, though if he'd heard Diego's logic he'd agree that it had probably been an easy thing to figure out. He didn't answer though instead packed himself a couple more snowballs and peered around the edge of the house where he'd been hiding and tossed another one at Diego.

"You weren't supposed to figure it out so quickly!" He shouted and then took off in the other direction, hoping that Diego would be slowed both by the snow at his feet but also by the snowball he'd thrown.

Another snowball slammed into him, and Diego turned quickly to the direction from which it came. Now he had a vague idea where Klaus was. it wouldn't take long, he figured, to find him. He lurched back to his own stash of premade snowballs, gathered up an arm full, and took off running.

"You're gonna pay!" he shouted, directed at Klaus. He zagged left, figuring Klaus would try to stay ahead of him. He had to think fast, and try to figure out Klaus' logic on the fly. "I'm gonna find you and when I do..." he said and let the threat trail off unspoken.

The thing was, sure Klaus could run, but he wasn't Diego - who hadn't spent years drugging himself to keep from being able to use his powers, so Klaus wasn't what one might call a good runner. But he was flexible so that maybe could help? At least that's what he told himself as he ran for his life ducking around another house hoping to keep ahead of his brother.

He looked around for something to climb on and outside of Pancho's he found a stack of boxes and decided that up was the direction he needed to head in and began to climb, hoping maybe he could get up to the roof and avoid Diego just a little bit longer. At least the threat being made today were going to be made good with snowballs, at least he hoped so - and that his brother wasn't out there plotting his actual death. That'd be a sad way to end the day.

Climbing of course proved to be a little less than efficient, and stacked boxes weren't what one might call a stable climbing surface. Which was how he ended up dangling from one hand grasping at the roof line after a box fell out from under his feet leaving him high and dry.

It didn't take Diego long to catch up to Klaus. He clicked his tongue and shook his head at the predicament his brother was in. Typical Klaus, he thought.

"Surrender," he called out, "and make it easy on yourself," he tossed a well packed snowball and caught it easily. He had every intention of throwing the ball at Klaus, but he wasn't going to do it when he was hanging precariously and would probably hurt himself if he fell.

"Surrender?" Klaus scoffed, as if he'd ever made things easy for himself a moment in his life . And even now, legs dangling and clutching at the low roof line Klaus wasn't about to wave the white flag. "You must have me confused with one of our other siblings," He taunted, getting an elbow up and pulling himself up a little higher.

"Why don't you come over here, and fight like a man." He huffed, hoping maybe he could draw Diego closer and maybe get the drop on him - literally.

There were few more effective ways to get to Diego than insulting his manhood. He sneered at Klaus, though he wasn't actually upset. he understood the parameters of playing a game. Anyone else, he'd be on the defense. But he accepted Klaus for who and what he was.

"You take that back," he hollared as he made his way closer to Klaus. He decided to hell with playing nice, and launched the snowball at his brother, aiming for his head.

"Never!" Klaus crowed with laughter, pleased to needle at Diego and draw him closer. "Get over here and you can see for yourself a true example of grace and male beauty." He grinned behind his elbow finally gaining a little leverage to push himself up higher.

That was right up to the point where Diego nailed him with a snowball in the back of the head. "I've been shot!" He gasped, pushing back from the house to fall back into the snow, laying still after he fell, faking for the chance to get the jump on his brother.

Diego was cautious in his approach. He knew Klaus was likely faking. But there was a small chance he'd actually hurt himself, and Diego would feel terrible about that. He moved in slow, steady. "Klaus?"

Klaus lay still while Diego came closer, his eyes closed and only just managing to keep a smile off his face, at least until he felt sure enough that Diego was near enough that when he did finally open his eyes Diego was close enough that he could push himself up out of the snow and tackle his brother with a shout.

"Eat snow!" He shouted with a laugh grabbing out at both sides to gather up some more snow to pile onto his brother.

Diego probably could have over powered Klaus. It would have been easy to do. He outweighed his brother in muscle by a considerable amount. But he decided to push that impulse down, and instead allowed Klaus to practically bury him in the snow.

"You're gonna regret this!" he threatened, though it was idle. Turns out being ridiculous was actually kind of fun.

Klaus laughed and shook his head when Diego threatened him, unworried about whatever the threats might actually mean - he wasn't worried about anything his brother might to do him, the worst it would be was a faceful of snow and he thought he could probably handle that.

"You fool," He scoffed, "Don't you know I had my ability to regret surgically removed." He laughed, a little crazed but only for enjoying himself so much, it had been a long long time since he'd been able to just play with his brother like this, so he was making the most of it.
