Who: Clint and Gamora
What: Talkin’ talkin’ talkin’
Where: COFFEE
When: November 20th

It was snowing. Clint wasn’t a big fan of snow, but it wasn’t like he wasn’t used to it. He’d grown up in Iowa, after all, and had decided to relocate to a just as chilly, if not entirely more happening, New York for a good majority of his life. But just because someone was used to something didn’t mean that they had to like it. Someday crime fighting might take him to make a life in Hawaii or something, and wouldn’t that be nice? He could surf on his days off. Bucky could be the Aloha Soldier. This was all, of course, just daydreaming because they were all here and they didn’t get to choose location or climate for even a second.

He was sitting on top of the counter-top, generally meant to be a table to those who came in for a cuppa and a chat, but the place was mostly empty right now, on account of the snow and the fact that it looked like a bunch of the younger folks were out there building a properly scaled igloo.

“Well,” he said, looking away from the big windows and toward Gamora who looked to be manning the coffee machine only for the two of them for the time being. “What do you think? Will people show up for coffee and hot chocolate or are we wasting our time today?”

She was happy to try things, what had surprised Gamora was the eagerness that Nebula had taken to things too. She had eaten candy and perhaps made some friends, it was nice to watch after a lifetime of being alone to see her sister have something nice. "I will try both," she decided because why not. If that was the holiday way well she better give it a try.

As he made to grab for the pot she rolled her eyes and lifted it, heading to fill his cup for him. Well she was here to work, at the most important work place in the world so she may as well do it. It was a nice thing to say, Clint was a nice person but she liked to think that it was true too.

"We found each other, I don't want to lose him again," she said simply. Dying was really all that could tear her from him now.

That was one of the kind of fun things about Gamora -- she never really shied away from things she hadn't tried before. Even if she thought they were weird or maybe a little dumb, she took each new drink, food and holiday offering like it was important and worth her attention. Even if some of them, really, probably weren't.

Clint didn't think it had much to do with himself, so much as her interest in figuring out in exactly what it was that made Quill tick. But it was endearing to watch from the sidelines, anyway.

"I understand," he said, because he did. He had Bucky now, and even if it hadn't been a before and now situation, it was still important. The now was more important than the before, and it was imperative that the now stretched on forever. "I'm not sure what I'd ever do again without Bucky."

Peter was enthusiastic about things and Gamora wanted to share in that. He helped her have more fun than she'd ever had in her life, because before meeting him life hadn't been about fun. It had been about being one of Thanos's children, then it had been about bringing him down. But no one had known of her plans until him and it had always been lonely. She hadn't had a friend since her and Nebula had been children and although it had taken time to get used to, she liked it.

He was an alien, but in time she'd learned more about why he was like that and it came from a good place. Gamora liked to find out as much as she could and in time it had brought them closer.

"He's your person," Gamora agreed as she glanced back out the window. "I-I died," she said after a long pause. "And he was alone and stupid, if it was anyone else I would be angry, for what he did. But-" Gamora shrugged. "He feels a lot."

Clint had a feeling that most people in this town hadn't had a whole lot of fun when they were younger. It was sort of what pulled them all together -- made everyone feel a little more compatible than what they probably would be otherwise. Sure, their experiences weren't the same, but... similar, in a way.

"He is," Clint said of Bucky, because he liked that description. His person. That was true. So true. And he was Bucky's. "And Quill is yours." He listened, though, when she talked. Because that was big stuff. Of course it was. Dying... well. It sucked. Even though for some reason it was never very permanent in the worlds that they both came from. Not really. "What did he do?" Clint asked, because he wasn't from their world, he didn't have every detail, even if he mostly tried paying attention to piece it all together.

"We all feel a lot," he said, not unkindly.
