Listening, Nyx took in the information. So this man worked with his world's creator. Good to know, and it was a woman. Also good to know. "The Oracle has communicating abilities with many of my world's gods. In fact, remind me to introduce you to Carbuncle." Nyx commented regarding his world and the gods. "Carbuncle is one of many, and he happens to reside here." With a faint smile he looked to Aziraphale. "He's cute, you'll like him."
"You're not wrong." Nyx would agree. "But, you have to push your body to the limits for it to learn and possibly surpass it's own abilities." Thinking to all his training, he thought about how he often had to push himself harder to be stronger, to be faster, to be better. If he wasn't at his prime, he couldn't protect those who needed him to do what he did. "The body is often a very interesting tool of existence." Staring at the table holding his tea he sighed.
"You say that, but some say I am incredibly stubborn." Nyx laughed while he looked at his own wounds before the questioned burning was brought forward, and that only made Nyx laugh a little harder. It wasn't something that really was easily understood, but he would share his tale. "Yes. Burning from the inside out." Drumming fingers on his leg some he spoke more. "Where I'm from, I'm dead or had died." He looked to Aziraphale. "I made a deal with ancient and kings of the past of where I'm from, to grant me their powers so I could do what needed to be done. The Princess, Lunafreya, had her destiny to fulfill and I could not let her die in that city.." He paused thinking about the words that were shared. "So to save her, the man I would consider my brother, and many innocents in the city - I traded my life for a night of fighting." Nyx looked away from the man who radiated being a better man than him. "And kill the traitor who betrayed our king."
Bring his gaze back to Aziraphale he finished. "So the magic from these ancient kings, burned me from the inside out." A wicked smile crept across his lips. "And I'd do it all again if I had to."
