As much as she'd mostly gotten used to the 'way' things were in town, Gwen wasn't sure if she'd ever get used to the way people came in and left. She struggled so much with the idea of what she'd do if the Peter from her world ever did happen to show up (she highly doubted it, but anything was possible) in town. What if he showed up, then disappeared? Gwen didn't know how she'd ever come back from that. Natasha... that was complicated. She'd really bonded closely to her when the Natasha who came from Tony, Steve, and Peter's world had shown up before. In fact, she was someone who knew more about her and what she'd been through than anyone else -- even Tony. She'd told Nat everything, about Peter, about her world and how things were there, how it made her feel. She'd stayed with Natasha at her place several times; she was like family, too.
Natasha disappearing had been hard. Another version of her came to town shortly after, but hadn't been around for very long. And then, she'd returned. Well. Natasha from the same world as the Natasha she'd bonded with came to town. They'd not talked much. Gwen had known right away that she didn't hold the memories of what they'd shared before. It wasn't anything to be upset about; it wasn't anyone's fault. It was just the way it was and Gwen wouldn't hold her responsible for building the same relationship she had with the Natasha who'd been in town before. She'd be lying if she said she didn't hope they could have something similar, though.
"I love peanut butter," she agreed. "Right out of the jar, even. It's like a spread and a dip. So versatile." She smiled at her. "Want one? I cut up most of Steve's weird bread."
