It wasn't the first time that someone had refused to shake his hand, but it still took him by surprise. In the past it had been because his family were blood traitors, considered by some to be just as bad as the halfbloods they stood alongside of. But it still stung and Bill stood for a moment hand extended, utterly thrown before he withdrew the offer and pocketed his hand instead. Bill's lips thinned a bit and he glanced down at himself to just check if there was anything you'd want to step back from and found himself in reasonable order.
It hadn't taken long for him to realize Eddie maybe needed a little attention, someone to trust, Merlin just someone to harmlessly flirt with him a little. When he'd got here he'd been alone and terrified and Bill had fixed his glasses, brewed him up some dreamless sleep and given him a well meaning wink. He certainly hadn't meant it to go getting anyone's nose out of joint.
He wasn't about to pursue someone in a relationship, there were plenty of other willing candidates, a few of which he'd been thinking of dropping in on for a little dinner and maybe a snog. Sometimes he forgot other people could breathe without flirting and that he just wasn't one of them. "Lucky I didn't try introducing myself with a french kiss then, huh?" Bill said after just a split second, recovering easily enough.
