Gwen knew what those thoughts were like. She really did wonder at times if she'd actually disappeared back home or if she was like.. a clone of herself or what. She still waffled about wanting to go back, struggling with that whole 'right thing' to do was. If she had the chance just to make sure her father knew she was safe, she'd take that. If she'd truly disappeared back home, she knew her father would be terribly worried, more than he had been knowing she was out there fighting the good fight but not answering his calls.
"You got it," she said. "I'm sure you'll find something to do around town. I'm not lending it to you though. Whatever you pick out is yours to keep." She flashed him a smile. "Don't worry about the doors. It's totally optional." Or at least it had been up to this point. It could change, possibly. Anything was possible here.
They reached the store, so she opened it up and turned on the lights. Gwen didn't ever lock the door because it wasn't like anyone was stealing clothes. They were all free anyway. If someone wanted something they could come get it. "That sounds pretty awful," she said when he mentioned killer intelligent life. "I get it, though. I ran into a lot of beings and people wanting to kill me back home, too. Were you running from anything when you wound up here?"
