"Well I mean most of us were doing the whole saving people thing before the Academy was created, but then Nick Fury got together with Odin and made the school and well it was a whole thing and it was good for us to figure out how to work together and we saved the city plenty of times and saved each other a lot more than that." He explained, it was weird that the others didn't have that sort of thing too. Where did they gather together without Club A? "Oh yeah Loki, he's great, I mean he did try and force everyone to dance with him once but we took care of that easily enough. I don't think he tried to enslave everyone, sure he gets up to some mischief every now and then but he's not that bad." Tony was maybe a little bit defensive of Loki, but they'd been friends at the Academy and he was currently residing in his top friend position here so yeah - he liked Loki.
Tony nodded. "Well actually we met before you started going to the Academy, I've got scanners out so when I saw some new kid was trying things out I tracked him down and we became pretty fast friends." He told Peter. "And then when it was obvious that Peter had more potential than just stopping bike thieves and things I talked to Fury and pulled some strings and got him a place at the Academy with us. We had some younger students with us too, it was great, you know I told them I needed a lab assistant and that was all it took really."
"But you know, it's fine. We might not all live in one place anymore, but we still keep in contact, and Steve and Bucky are off rounding up rogue Hydra agents, and I already said Jan and I were making our own school. Most of the others paired off and started doing their own thing, but I know if we really need them they'll all come back ready to help with whatever comes up." Tony was quick to assure Peter. He'd have loved to have them all together like they'd once been but he knew they'd split up for a reason. So he was trying to be good about it and make peace with his new reality. Well his old reality he supposed, this place was his new reality.
It was a testament to just how long he'd been here that he could talk about these sorts of things without a ton of dread in his tone, because of course it worried him, he'd be crazy not to let it bother him. But he was also a realist he knew the way this place worked, at least a little bit, so he could either let it tear him apart or he could work to better understand it. "Of course it worries me, I've had several friends disappear without explanation, I'd love to know where they went and why they went. And I'm working on trying to figure that out, but I haven't managed to crack it yet."
"It kind of ebbs and flows," He admitted. "The Spider-Men thing, I mean. They seem to come around more often than others, it's interesting from a research side of things." But he knew that things like that were rarely as interesting to the people who it was happening to as they were to him.
