Peter Parker | Gwen Stacy
Maybe there just wasn't a way around it. Maybe that's what this life was about - taking that pain and trying to do something better with it. Maybe there wasn't any meaning at all, and Peter was looking for sense in a place where there wasn't any. But if he had a choice in what to believe, well, he knew which option made him feel better, and which made him feel worse.
"Yeah it's...I guess it's always a little greener on the other side." He's got the good Matt Murdock, and Gwen presumably hasn't had to deal with the Thanos mess. That...was probably a good call on her part, before Peter was forced to try smothering himself in the remains of his plate. That should probably be an omen or something, right?
"Trust me." Peter's smile is genuine, when he returns it to her, because yeah, if there's one thing he understands, it's that feeling. Like you can't do anything right, it's all piling up against you - but it all works out, given enough conviction. At least there's a bright side for her, being here? Peter has to admit, maybe...it's a bit relieving not to have to face the mess back home for him, too. "Yeah, I'd...I'd like that. I haven't...really been exploring, so I haven't seen that yet."
"Maybe once I'm a little uh, more recovered," Peter made a vague gesture up to his face, and his general state of being. He was still a little roughed up, but it might be fun, to run around on a jungle gym - especially with someone who could keep pace.
