Peter Parker | Gwen Stacy
Honestly, he was having a hard time processing exactly what he'd left behind. It was...God, it was such a mess. Such a mess. He misses May so much it takes his breath away if he thinks about it for too long. It all happened so fast, so damn fast he's not even a week out and it's just - mind-boggling, it really is. He hasn't thought too much about what having other versions of himself here really means, but he sees the look in Tony's eye, or right here, in Gwen's, and he wonders how they feel about him, not being the same. Probably the same way he feels when he looks at this Tony, untouched by death.
It kind of sucks, not being able to appreciate how cool this would be if he hadn't just come out of what felt like a literal Hellmouth. Because it would be! Alternate versions of himself, people from throughout the multiverse - but Peter's just. Tired. So tired. Sleep-and-never-wake-up tired (never wake up choking on dust that isn't there, hopefully).
"That's - crazy, I mean, that things could be so different." And yet, still so similar. One little thing could change the course of so many lives, so drastically. Peter can't help but wonder if any of the ends are different in any of the other universes. Ends that don't involve the second worst heartbreak of his life; but he thinks in any universe, probably, Gwen went through the same things he did. He can see it in her eyes, in the set of her shoulders.
"Wait, wait," Peter blinked, then blinked again. Matt Murdock? The name stirs memories, and how could it not? It feels like ages since he was out, patrolling the streets of New York, but he's run into Daredevil a fair few times. Well, more than a few. There's only so many times you can end up bleeding on a guy's couch before you get a name. Burnt pancakes and a kickass medical kit, that was Matt. Help on his Spanish homework, albeit begrudgingly, and admonitions that told him Matt didn't really know whether or not he should be discouraging him from doing what he was doing. But he was - he was good. Sure - they didn't call him the Devil for no reason - but he wanted to help people. "Your Matt's a bad guy?"
"Yeah Vulture is - something else." Peter suppresses a shiver. He doesn't like thinking about it, because then the guilt starts. "I'm sorry. That - I mean, that period ends. Where people don't like you. It...takes a while, but then like, they stop throwing trash, at least."
