"Probably should have a drink about it then," She said with a soft huff and a smile, she understood of course, it was a lot, this place. And well - that was just the way it was here, it was all a little bit much and you could accept that or not but it wouldn't make things easier if you looked too closely. "And if that doesn't help? Well I guess maybe you could try talking to Tony, if anyone knows something about this place it'll be him." She added, because that felt just as important as not thinking about it, sometimes you just had to talk to someone who knew a little bit more than you.
She grinned raising an eyebrow at him when he admitted that he'd been in New York for a few years. "Yeah?" She asked, "You don't strike me as a New York kind of guy." She told him. "How is small town Indiana these days?" She asked, shifting the conversation easily to him, wanting to learn a little bit more before she decided whether or not she felt like she could tell him more about herself.
It was a strange line to walk, knowing that really there was no reason for the hesitance and yet a lifetime of not telling anyone about himself had been enough to keep her from opening up easily.
