Stan | Richie
Stan cast Richie a doubtful look as he insisted that his way of adulting was valid too, he wasn't sure he believed it but you know maybe. "Did you even have a lawn?" He wondered, he'd had a lawn, a front and a back yard that he'd taken care of every weekend during the summers. But there had been something satisfying about that, but Stan had always liked being outside, and if he looked for birds while he was doing it then who had to know but him? "Right, we'll keep them going - it'll be fine. Eddie can FDA the streets and stuff."
It was probably why he and Bill ended up close too, because Rich and Eddie were that kind of pair - and then they'd added Bev and Ben and then Mike and well - they'd all been inseparable for a while there, looking after one another, making sure they were all safe. Stan thought they'd have stayed that way too if they hadn't all drifted away from Derry over the years, the memories of those times and those friendships fading from memory, stolen from them until it all came rushing back.
It hadn't been fair.
"Yeah," Stan agreed easily, there was no doubt at all - he loved them all. Bill, Mike, Ben, Bev, Eddie and of course Richie. He rolled his eyes, but he was grinning as he did, "Yeah, Rich." He nodded, "I've always loved you best." He'd have said the same thing to any of them, and maybe at times it was even true. But it didn't matter really. They were all tied up in one another in the sort of way that made it impossible to separate yourself from.
