"Er - there should be a bar in that direction." Steve gestured vaguely towards the nestled storefronts - Tony had told him there was one over there, anyway, he hadn't exactly done all that much exploring. What makes you think Steve is going to be in Hell? "Are you sure you don't want to get cleaned up, uh, first?"
Even as he said it, Steve had a feeling Hopper wasn't going to go for it - lucky he had his wallet on him, then. Even...if he wasn't entirely sure the bar even took cash (they probably would, after Hopper visited). It's not exactly Hawkins' biggest secret that the Chief of Police took to the bottle every so often (Steve's parents complained endlessly every four years, when it came time to re-elect, but never seemed to care enough to do anything about it. It doesn't matter, though, because as Steve has found out, Hopper is good people. Everybody has their own shit to deal with, Steve knows that. But the Chief - he's always protected them.)
Steve offered Hopper a hand up off the ground, waiting until he'd gotten him upright to continue. He knew the man wasn't easily phased, but still, this level of chill seemed...odd, even to someone as arguably thick-skulled as Steve (he...could be obtuse, sometimes). Steve frowned, squinting at Hopper in contemplation for a second before he finally settled on asking: "What....what's the last thing you remember?"
