Okay Tony could tell he was going to have to have the time travel talk sooner than he'd like to - he'd hoped maybe he could distract Steve from the whole insanity of being in another dimension with some cool new tech, but it was maybe just a little bit too cool for him to handle at this point. And listening to Steve try to make sense of it, first seeming to find the idea of voicemail strange and then AA batteries, Tony had to resist the urge to pat his head, he was still trying to make a decent first impression after all.
"Oh my god, I could not even begin to imagine using something like this powered by AA's." He couldn't hold back just a little laugh at that, try as he might. "There is a battery in it, but it's a lot better than a couple AA's, I can boost it too later if you want - so it'll last longer." Between himself and the older Tony he was pretty sure all the phones in Starklandia had top of the line power.
Sobering when Steve was startled by the phone, Tony pouted a little as he fumbled and missed it trying to catch it for him. "Oh no," He winced and hopped down to pick it up again seeing the screen had been cracked, and pouting at it a little. "Well I can fix that too while I'm taking care of the battery." He kept hold of the phone this time though rather than handing it back to Steve who seemed to be having a .... crisis maybe? But he checked his own phone, the screen lighting up as he held it up to display the time, just after seven by the looks of it, along with a picture of Dum-E and GERTY on the screen beneath the displayed time, both of them smiling though one was a bot and the other a pokemon.
"Okay, okay just.... breathe?" He suggested a little unhelpfully. "It's gonna be okay, I mean.... you're stuck, but it's not that bad? Like - the town is safe, so there's that. And there's some pretty cool people here. There's about thirty of us I think?" He tipped his head trying to do a quick mental count.
