Fancy pagers! Oh my god, Tony couldn't help the grin that spread across his face hearing that, pagers had been nearly obsolete by the time he was born and this guy was calling them fancy, there was clearly some more of those time difference shenanigans at work at the moment. And pay phones too - Tony wasn't sure he'd ever even seen one if he was being entirely honest. Well in movies of course, but in real life? Sure his life had been a little bit sheltered when he was young, but even still.
"Trust me, it'd be weirder if you had heard of it before." He assured him, watching Steve try and figure out what his next move was going to be. Tony wasn't going to beg to be believed, but he was happy to offer as much information as Steve was willing to take. "Sorry man, no - this isn't Indiana." What a place to want to go back to, not that Tony actually knew anything about Indiana.
Holding up the phone again Tony waved it in Steve's direction. "Here is the nearest phone, man. But it's not going to reach whoever you want to call, my dude." He said it without amusement, and maybe just a little bit of sympathy, remembering how it had felt to show up here himself - at least he'd shown up to find a friend.
"I hate to break it to you, but you're not in Kansas anymore, Toto." Tony told him. Indiana, Kansas, same thing really.
