Eddie & Hopper
Hopper had been a father. He'd lost his daughter to a senseless disease. He'd lost his wife long before they'd laid Sara in the ground. She'd checked out long before she'd walked out. He'd focused on his work, on being the chief of police in a sleepy little town where the worst thing that ever happened was cow tipping and dogs barking at all hours of the night. And then a kid went missing, another kid was found, and along the way, Hopper found himself again.
He'd do anything for that kid. She was his daughter in all the ways that really mattered. He loved her. He cared what happened to her. He would do anything, right down to self sacrifice, in order to ensure her safety. And he'd go thought a god damned door into the unknown on a mission to get her some Eggos just in case she showed up in this strange little town.
He blinked at the sudden change in scenery. It wasn't the first time he'd experienced something like this. It felt all too much like stepping into the Upsidedown, and he didn't even try to censor the string of curses that erupted from his lips. He turned back to the door they'd stepped through only to see it slam shut. He knew without even attempting to open it that it was sealed, locked, impassable.
"The fuck just happened?" he asked his travel companion. He didn't really know Eddie. He didn't really know anyone, other than Steve, in this town, but he had to hope and trust that Eddie was a capable ally in this sort of situation.
