Natasha | Bucky
"I don't know," Bucky said. "It might still be there from where I came in but they're so damn unpredictable." And this forest's unsettling feeling didn't lend itself to making him feel like they could really rely on anything but chaos. For all he knew, the markings he left on the trees could have magically gone away. He was out of his element here, but he wasn't going to lose his cool about it. Honestly, Bucky felt a bit more equipped to deal with it knowing she was there with him. They'd been in some impossible looking situations before.
Close range weapons weren't his favorite, though he was highly skilled with knives. An axe wasn't ideal but he'd be able to wield it quickly enough should the need arise. Natalia was faster than him, so he thought it best she take the machete so they were both armed. Hopefully they could just move together, quietly, and a door would appear somewhere to just let them out.
That was reaching, and Bucky wasn't typically optimistic so he doubted that was going to happen.
They needed to figure out if they were being surrounded just on the ground, or if anything was up in the trees. Bucky was decently confident that they could take out whatever came at them working together, but even they had their limits just because they were only two. "Injuring one may have drawn the attention of the others if they smell blood," he whispered. He kept his back pressed to hers and the two moved in perfectly synchronized steps. He'd worked with her in training sessions like this before. They'd been/i> in real life situations like this before, only they were people, not monsters. "I think we have to draw them out."
