Re: Father/Daughter Woods Date?
It was a little strange for Gwen too, really. She remembered everything about how it'd been when she was a little kid running around Starklandia with so many people doting on her. It'd been great. How could she think otherwise? Bowl cereal, Toaster Strudels, story time with Steve, climbing every inch of town with Peter, riding on Padfoot's back, being in awe over Star-Lord. But what she'd be happiest about was being Mr. Stark's kiddo. She'd told everyone in town who'd listen about how great her Dad was and she'd meant it in that way that little kids were just brutally honest about everything. He'd carry her just about everywhere, or else she'd be climbing up his legs and back to hold on tight no matter how long the distance was they were going -- across town, or just in the next room. They'd taken about six million selfies. He'd tucked her in at night. He'd greeted her happily every morning. It was the best.
There had always been an underlying understanding about their relationship and what it meant to them. Gwen hadn't ever questioned it, really since day one but especially since he'd taken her into his already established family home and made her a part of it. But during and after this shrinking incident, the underlying part wasn't so underlying anymore. It'd just been put out there in every way. It didn't really change anything but it just made it that much more apparent how important they were to each other. Gwen knew she had absolutely everything to lose if she ever lost Tony; her dad.
But right now, woods. Trees. Dark scary trees. The glow of the arc reactor helped them see better but it also cast an eerie tint to everything. "Probably should tell you I wasn't ever a Girl Scout, so..." She was looking up and around those trees. "I mean I know the logical, tactical thing to do is climb the trees and see what's up beyond the tree line, or if there even is a tree line. But.." She made a face and shivered a bit. "Creepy as hell. Also my Spider Sense is saying 'oh hell no' soooo... Is this one of those situations where we're gonna meet some creepy ass Windigo or a contortionist looking kid on the other side of a tree? Because I need like twenty minutes to mentally prepare for that."
