Who: Anyone who wants to be spooked
What: Haunted house time
Where: Through the doors and into Hill House
When: Open throughout the Halloween Event

No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met neatly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone.

Filled with ghosts and specters of all sorts, Hill house seems tame enough when you first walk through it's doors, but it very quickly becomes obvious that everything is not as it seems. Is it your mind playing tricks on you? Or is it something else? Something more sinister.

Come in and stay a while, explore the long and twisting halls, enjoy the beautiful art and sculpture garden, and find the Red Room. There are many treasures to be had if you can survive the night.

"Right," John said, and now wasn't really a great time to re-hash what their relationship really was or wasn't because if they hadn't been able to put it to words on a normal day, they weren't going to do it in a house full of vengeful and angry spirits. And christ, were they angry. Just because John was good at dealing with this kind of stuff didn't mean he wasn't unsettled. But that didn't mean he was going to be that young man who broke down screaming until someone slapped a hospital bracelet around his wrist again, either.

He still wished that the two of them weren't here. Even if Claire kissed like she meant it, and Peter tugged at them both possessively until they were all circled up, three people squished together on the top of a staircase, hoping like hell they wouldn't lose each other to whatever the fuck was in this house.

If they weren't here, he could have just torched it.

"We've got t'move along," he murmured after a moment -- even if maybe he took an extra second or two to put his nose against Peter's jawline because -- whatever. One cuddle deserved another. "One direction isn't all and there's work to do. Or a door to find." And making out wasn't as fun when there were literal ghosts watching from every angle.

"No ghosts next time." Peter promised her gently, as best he could - because well the truth was Peter wasn't certain that he'd be eager to try and take her anywhere other than Pancho's for a while, and at least that was a place he was fairly certain there were no ghosts. So it was a promise he could keep.

But for now there was this, the three of them pressed close, as tight as Peter could get all of them within the safety that John had created for them. For just a moment it was enough, just a moment of course because not even this was enough to make Peter forget the way his senses kept reminding him there was trouble all around them.

"Okay," He agreed, ready to help keep them moving, to find the way out so he could get these people who were his out of this place and back into town where at least he could say he felt safe. "Okay, let's figure out which way we're going and then we'll just...." He took a breath, because Peter really didn't want to go back out into all of that, he wanted to just find that way back easy and know they were safe. "We'll just get ourselves out of here, It's gonna be fine."

If there was one thing he could do it was a sort of mediocre pep talk.
