Eddie Kaspbrak ([info]ekaspbrak) wrote in [info]snapthread,
That was assuming that Eddie loved it. He didn't know when Richie had managed to do that or where he'd found something appropriately sharp to do it with. But there it was. Carved into the door at a height where Eddie (or Richie) could clearly see it while lying on the floor. That may have been why he missed it. He wouldn't, normally, do something like that. It made the spot a perfect, yet obvious, place for a confession. Sirius had noticed it, after all. Eddie probably would've too after awhile. Reaching out, he ran a finger over the carving and decided he did love it. Even if it announced certain things about them to the world. "He probably would." Eddie agreed. "Even if he doesn't say it."

Sirius had Eddie pegged. No matter how exasperated he got with Richie's ridiculousness or how many times he started an argument over these things, he enjoyed the attention. He liked the carving. He liked the teasing. He liked being leaned on or tripped into or just... anything. He liked Richie. Finding the nerve to express it, however, seemed to throw a few hiccups into their routine. Maybe it wouldn't have if Eddie had run away but, after hiding out and thinking about it, he knew there was a high possibility that Richie would've had the same reaction. They'd both grown uo in Derry and Eddie wasn't completely oblivious to what some of the other kids said about his best friend.

"We didn't know who to ask about anything. None of the other Losers were here." Sirius didn't need to know about the confusion surrounding Bills and a red door. They didn't know who to ask so they didn't ask anyone which didn't work out until Eddie got the idea into his head that they needed a hammock. He liked the idea of shelves though so he could kind of organize Richie's chaos and a sofa. With the sofa, however, he was pretty sure they would mostly push it around. Steal the cushions and a few blankets and set up a fort or something. With the exception of the hammock, anything that Sirius might be willing to conjure up for them would probably end up being used for something else.

"He won't take it seriously and drop me." Not on purpose and not hard. Eddie probably shouldn't even say that Richie would drop him. The other boy would just fall backwards with Eddie still in his arms. Then Eddie would have to freak out over whether or not Richie had hurt himself. Medium shelves that he could reach without much climbing were probably the better option.

He watched Sirius for a moment before moving to slowly plop down somewhere around him. He didn't want to be in the guy's way. He didn't know what he needed to do or how much space he needed. He was surprised to be handed the bar of chocolate but his face lit up a little. He broke off a piece to nibble on while he watched but it was probably obvious that he planned on offering, at least, half of it to his favorite person.
