Although he'd been a little wary and hesitant about taking on that whole 'big brother' thing when it first came about in his life, he'd sort of just acceptd it and become an expert over the years. It came naturally to him these days and so if he could do something to help this kid out by just being there or whatever he needed then yeah, he was going to do it. It helped him feel useful, too. So it was kind of a win-win even if they didn't show it in the most conventional ways. He also kinda just.. embraced the fuck out of it and that was probably why he was able to be 'that guy' who took the kiddos under his wing and it wasn't creepy. He was just a big brother. The kind that looked out for you and had your back, but also gave you copious amounts of shit because that was what big brothers tended to do.
Before he could give any kind of answer to Richie's question, the door was opened and they were kind of looking through a weird void that was huge and empty and that really was pretty fucking scary. Dick couldn't see much else but he could tell right away that wasn't somewhere they wanted to just step into. Maybe he would've tried it if he was by himself or with Barbara but definitely not with a kiddo.
"Well, that was one," he said referring back to Richie's question. "I'd put that one somewhere between explosions and psycho clowns." Explosions he could usually get his way out of. The Joker, man that was someone he didn't want to see on the other side of a door. "How about we try a different door?"
