Maybe I am thick (don't answer that LOL) but I have to admit Rule #5 has me confused.
5. NEW RULE All participants must provide at least five different pairing prompts (there is no upper limit) in at least one of the categories (het or slash or our new one, more on that in a bit). No exceptions. Sorry, dividing up your five between two or three categories is not an option. Why? Would you appreciate receiving an assignment with only one or two options to consider?
OK, so in theory I need to list 5 slash pairings, but I can also list say two het and a gen? But not 2 slash and 2 het and one Gen? I guess my question would be why are 5 pairings not 5 pairings? No matter how they are spread out?
I think you have a great deal of variety in your pairings based on last years numbers so it's hard to imagine that's a issue. It's not as if one or two pairings overshadow the fest.
Also, not that I planned to sign-up but you know I am an avid reader of the fest and in all seriousness, I *could* list 5 pairings but possibly the last couple really would be to fill out the table, not something I'd LOVE as a gift. It seems a shame to give anyone anything that far down their preference list. Or to say it another way, yes, I can think of 5 pairings I'd happily *read* but only 2 maybe I really, really *want*.
