The premise is so clever and original, that Snape hid in plain sight again and changed everything but himself (especially the things he hated, like Quidditch and Ron -- I agree that JKR portrayed Ron a lot less flatteringly than she probably intended) and did it all to continue protecting Harry, and that he is essentially the author of the series. The colors of his interior decor are hilarious. I thought the word choice of "clavicle" was nothing short of brilliant and I had a geeky moment of gratitude that you spelled "mantel" correctly. The transposition of Albus Severus' name is such a broad swipe at JKR's inability to choke out a thank-you to Snape and it makes me laugh every single time. Loved the Hawaiian shirt. Harry's anomie, Ginny's way of dealing with it and her underlying anxiety, were very well drawn, and sad. Even better was Harry's reaction of sadness to any good news in Snape's life: his high salary, his ability to do anything. But my overriding favorite thing in the story is the endearments. I wouldn't be tired of them, either.
