Oh, this is brilliant! A lovely, lovely fic, wonderfully written, the characters, the plot, the sex - everything was perfect. I loved it!

What a wonderful story! I've been fond of Snape and Percy together for quite a while, but you've made me absolutely adore the pairing. Not being very good with words, I can only concur with everything gingertart50 wrote. I too, loved this fic! :)

This was my first time with this pairing, so your comments are so appreciated. I've always thought Percy and Snape might synch, given their commonalities. Thanks for reading and commenting.

What a fabulous, FABULOUS story! I am in awe.
So well done, so engaging. I'm glad I saved it for this evening since I couldn't stop reading until I was done.
Your Snape voice is SPOT ON, Percy's plan was BRILLIANT and the whole premise was just beautifully executed.
This definitely deserves a rec and I will, as soon as I can find the words.
So many part of this were well done. Severus' defense of Percy's 'gayness' to Ron made me want to stand up and cheer, for example.
Also? I teared up when that final verdict came down.
*shakes head*
AWESOME fic.

Again, Ali, thanks for the rec! I did have fun, creating Percy's plan, and choosing scenes in which to paint Percy's character--that one with Ron was one of the most rewarding to write.

As for tears, at this point in the fest, when I read your review, I was so grateful, I almost shed a few! Thanks for reading, hon.

My goodness...THAT was a rollercoaster of a ride! Any story that pairs Harry and Severus together in any fashion that they have a connection (friendship or otherwise) will always grab me, and while I've never been a Percy fan you've entirely won me over here. Mysteries...I SO love mysteries! I had to stop a couple of times to deal with household matters, and it was frustrating to walk away each time.

That plot was so intricate and brilliantly executed and I lost count how many times I was on the edge of my seat. It was so easy to understand Snape's frustration at being out of the loop because I was frustrated too! I am in awe of authors who can wrangle the myriad of characters that you wove into this and keep them in character. *mind boggles*

That was a really phenomal Christmas present for [info]midnight_birth, lucky person. Heck, we ALL got a fabulous present with this story.

Percy's plan was fun to...plan. Hee. Glad you felt some suspense. Have always wanted to try my hand at this pairing, mostly because Percy is one of the few canon characters I can see who might appeal to Snape.

Thanks so much for reading, Cath, and for your lovely comment!

first, thank you for writing a longer snape/percy fic, there really should be more of the pairing as they work.

That said, excellent story! I like how you built up the romance using the bursts of memories, so that it was there, but that the main focus of the story was friendship and severus' life. Harry was also greatly entertaining here, oh, and the moment when snape tried to coerce Neville into telling him what's going on was perfect. thanks : )

I was hoping that Severus' ability to actually form friendships would soften the way for Percy. This is a pairing I've always wanted to play with, so I'm glad it worked for you here. I did have to remind myself a few times that this wasn't supposed to end up as a Snarry, though. :)

Thanks for reading, synn!

Hurray--a Percy who is ingenious, courageous, passionate, decent--and admirable in his motivation! Your equally marvelous Severus should cover him in hickeys from throat to instep. (Please allow me to watch.) Love simply everything about this story, especially the wonderful writing.

What an amazing story! I couldn't get away from the screen until I'd polished off the whole deliciously long, plotty, and beautifully written 40k of it. Snape and Percy aren't even in each other's vicinity almost until the end, but the flashbacks make all the small present-day hints towards mutual effection feel like a budding relationship. An ingenious build-up towards a very, very satisfying end.

Need more Snape/Percy at once, instantly, nooow...

Yeah, from the beginning, my biggest worry was Percy being off-screen for so much of the story, so it's good to hear the flashbacks did what they were supposed to do. I'm so pleased you liked it, and thanks so much for reading, and for taking the time to let me know you did.

WHEW!!! I finally managed to make it all the way through this! I started reading it on the 26th, I believe, and was immediately sucked in by the fabulous setup and the beginnings of the plot. But I've had other things demanding my time and attention, so I had to read the rest in chunks over the last few days. I kept coming back to it, though, because I was itching to see the next stage of Percy's plan!

You sold me on this difficult pairing here. I can absolutely see Snape, as inexperienced as he is, being blindsided by the whole thing. And I'm glad you went with this hopeful yet realistic ending -- one in which Snape needs to learn about love before committing to it with premature promises.

It was the plot, though, that really kept me reading. Percy's plan was, indeed, brilliant. Kudos, Mystery Author.

Your characterizations of all the various side characters were fantastic, and I loved their interactions with and responses to Snape. I particularly enjoyed the dynamics between Snape and Harry, and Snape and Kingsley.

Also, Mystery Author, I think you fail at anon. I'd bet my right arm I know who you are. ;)

Thanks for slogging through to the end, and yes, I was determined that Snape would remain Snape, and take his usual, careful time before committing himself to anything.

Percy's plan was a guilty pleasure for me; I do like to plot out nefarious schemes, and it was fun to play with the side characters too. I did have to remind myself, though, that this wasn't going to end as a Snarry. :)

So, I fail at anon, huh? Were you right? I was tempted to comment anonymously and caution you to begin practicing your one-armed paper-hanging skillz. Really appreciate that you read, and thanks for such a thoughtful comment!

An intricately worked plot, intelligent romance and emotional redevelopment, all wrapped up by stunning wordsmithing. Your dialogue is to die for, your narration too, but for me it was your magnificent pacing that marks this as a truly exceptional story.

Wonderful work, darling, and it has quite sold this pairing to me.

Thanks for mentioning the pacing; that's always my worry in a first-time fic, especially one where a key character is absent for most of the story.

I really appreciate that you took the time to read this, L, and was so encouraged by your feedback!

Oh, that was wonderful (the title too)! I loved the plot, and Percy the Planner, and the extensive campaign/conspiracy that ensues. In particular seeing how not only Snape's friends, but entire groups respond in Snape's favour was amazing - at Hogwarts, at the Ministry... It's so *awesome* that Percy comes up with a blue-print for a veritable revolution and the others pull it off.

Snape was excellent - very much sour and impatient and in character, and oh so annoyed about being kept in the dark about what's going on, and not being in charge of his own fate. Loved the parallel to Harry in OotP. Loved Harry here, full stop.

A great, and strangely uplifting fic :). Enjoyed it immensely.

Making Percy's plan, for me, was the best part of writing this. And I did have fun playing with the other characters too, ones that don't usually find their way into my stories, for some reason.

Writing Harry and Snape's friendship felt odd; I had to keep reminding myself that this wasn't going to end up a Snarry.

So pleased you enjoyed it; thanks for the investment of your time to read it, and for your thoughtful comments.

This is an intriguing, absorbing, fascinating, believable look at what could happen to Snape after the Battle of Hogwarts.

To be honest, I debated about reading this story, because of the pairing, the length, and most of all, because a quick glance showed Harry/Ginny as an implied pairing. (It's one of my very few pairing squicks.)

I'm really really really really glad that I ignored myself and read it. :)

I'm not sure I have a favourite moment, so to speak, but the scene where Snape takes on Ron for his homophobia will stay with me for a while, as will the moment when Snape blinked.

Yeah, I knew the pairing and length might be a problem for some readers, but then, you know me. :) I figured the length alone would give away my identity.

Can I tell you how much I love you for commenting on the fact that Snape blinked? It was one of those lines in a story that you know is a critical one, but you wonder anyway if readers will catch it. :)

Thanks so much for finding time to read, Leela, and for your comments as well.

That was exquisite. It's truly hard to say what I loved the best--for someone like me that ships Snarry above all others I have to say that if they can't have each other, this is the relationship I would want them to have. But I don't want to take away from the true pairing here. You did a wonderful job showing Percy's feelings for Severus from the "plan" to the flashbacks to the marvelous ending. I loved all your cast of characters here but Neville also stood out for me. Truly marvelous fic-well done.

Listen, I almost wrote this as a Snarry, and even after I'd decided not to, I found it hard not to make Harry and Snape too 'chummy.' :) It really was fun to write the other characters in as well; I did enjoy showing a more confident Neville.

I'm so pleased you liked it; thanks for reading such a long story, and for your thoughtful comments.

I'm so glad Alisanne recced it, as being this not any of my fav pairings, might have missed this (though if I guess correctly, who wrote this, I would have read it sometime for sure:)
The plot was brilliant, the writing flawless (I devoured it in one go, was a bit late for work:), and my Snarry-loving heart warmed at the friendship between Harry and Severus.

This was my first time writing this pairing, but I'd always wanted to do it, and this fest gave me the opportunity. The friendship between Harry and Snape felt odd to write (and not turn it into a Snarry), but it's nice to hear you liked that part.

Percy did it! Percy sprang Severus! Surprise merged into smiles - this is a lovely feel-good read. It's smile-inducing, without being fluffy or too sentimantal.
I do like the way that Severus is very true to canon Severus - the way he thinks, his profound sense of responsibility, his sternness; it's all great.

I'm so honored you read it, Red, and liked the things you mentioned. I did try to keep Snape IC; developing friendships so soon stretched his limits, I think. And Percy's plan was so much fun to dream up and then execute.

Thanks so much for reading!
