First let me say, I adore protective!Severus, and this Severus was uber protective, so kudos, lol. Sadly, I can see the WW having exactly these sorts of attitudes, and the circumstances that led to Harry's plight read as very possible. That would be a distinct downfall to magic, IMO. Magic would make it easy to deny someone access to their home and belongings. :(
Poor Harry broke my heart, although thank goodness he had enough power to find his safe place (which in my mind is ALWAYS Severus)!
I must say, Draco totally stole the show. He was FABULOUS and it was nice to see him be a mature adult with a good sense of humor and a droll, self deprecating manner. ;)
When Harry had his reunion with his true friends I did tear up a bit, and LUNA! OMG she was perfect. I love that Severus recognized her genius. Also? Neville telling Severus that he could call him professor startled a chuckle out of me.
What can I say about Severus? He grew in this, too. No longer the spiteful, petty man we see in canon, he's a caring man, just the person Harry needs under the circumstances. Harry's magic chose well. :)
The OC's weren't intrusive (always a danger) and I love that this really became a character study of Harry.
Overall, this was a good read for a Saturday afternoon. NIce job with it! :)
