Every word was perfect. I was in love with this story after the first paragraph. One of the most intriguing things was to see beyond the defeated Severus you wrote and get a glimpse of his old self. Although he was so broken and lost, there was a wonderful, tragic dignity about him. I felt that he was drowning, in a quiet way, refusing to fight, but just going under.
Although I like Severus and Lucius together and like romantic stories about them I can also see the abusive, destructive side of this pairing and you beautifully contrasted Lucius' abuse with Harry's love and support.
I admire your Harry here–he is so recognisable, brave, loving, loyal, and I loved his desire for Severus! I could see how Severus is overwhelmed by this–the notion of being wanted the first time in his life–but I could also feel how Harry cherishes the sensation of wanting someone as complicated as Severus.
The anchor you gave Severus in the end was the perfect end–it was perfect symmetry that he found a way out of his solitude by writing.
By now I hope you believe me when I tell you how happy this story made me :D
