[podfic] A Volatile Mix by Leela_Cat (Read by Fire_Juggler)
Recently, I've begun to embrace drabbles and ficlets. I never used to enjoy them. I always wanted more, more, more. But lately, I've come to understand and enjoy the elegance of a well done short piece. I really admire authors who can say so much in so few words. It's a talent that I don't have. Just ask my co-workers, all my emails are novel-length.
A couple weeks ago, leela_cat posted A Volatile Mix, and in my new-found spirit of being pro-short!fic, I plunged in, and I'm so very glad I did. As soon as I read it, I knew that I wanted to podfic it. It epitomizes what I like about short!fic; leela_cat somehow takes ~1000 words, and give you a glimpse into this entire world. I also absolutely love the way she deals with Snape here. For me, he is truly believable, and this is how I think he would approach a relationship. He's uncompromising and prone to hot-temperedness, and yet, he still loves Harry.
Buckets of thanks to leela_cat, who generously gave blanket permission to record all her fics and continues to write so many that I adore. And thanks, to takola, who gave me a lightening fast beta, in spite of drowning in RL.
