Summary: Harry is injured during an auror mission. Someone has always had his back.
A/N: This idea has been sitting around in my noggin for the better part of three years. It was only until the announcement of this fest that a close friend said, "Quit thinking about it and just DO it." Thanks to R for her help with the narrative. For every time I said, "I can't do this" and you said, "Yes, you can", for every time I threw the project in the virtual trashcan and you pulled it out and put it back in my hands, and for every word of encouragement you gave me along the way, O - this is dedicated to you.

Ohmehgah!!!!! Gorgeous! Beautifully told, laid out, executed, etc.etc. Snape's robes! *flails over buttons* I cannot get over Snape's face, mystery artist. I especially love the two close-ups, one looking out and one looking askance. The bridge of his nose and his eye bags are delicious. *licks* I really love the extra-glowy quality to the DE's masks and Kingley's Patronus. Really beautiful all around, and I'm so happy there's a part 2.

I love the darkness of this piece--it really sets the mood. I especially love the inset of Severus's face, his hand on Harry's cheek--those brilliant green eyes, as well as the storyline. As if Severus would leave. Gorgeous work.

This is absolutely brilliant. I love the slightly dark atmosphere and how worried Severus seems to be. And I just noticed the wedding bands while looking at it for a second time! :)
Can't wait for the second part.

Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. I actually have a reasoning for the wedding bands (they wear them in my universe...they can track each other's whereabouts through their rings...which is why Severus could find Harry).

I love this so much. The colouring is just so perfect for their emotions and their peril. Each panel has something special that makes me want to stare at it for hours. But my heart always stops a little at the panel where Snape is touching Harry's face and the one where they're both on the bed and Snape is cradling Harry. Just beautiful.

"You always do." - someone has to look after him; it's lucky Severus is up to the task.
I love the dark colours and feel to the frames, and have a suspicion Shacklebolt's lynx is bringing bad news ...
You manage to get so much expression into Severus' and Harry's faces.
Beautifully done.

Amazing work here. The colours and details are amazing. I love the stone work, the folds, the shadings. That image of Snape holding Harry is classic h/c and so possessive. I love his tenderness and protectiveness. Brilliant!

I adore the shadows, the many gradations of dark blue, gray, and black that you use. They create an atmosphere of foreboding and despair that is overcome by the loyalty and commitment of our boys. Well done!
