I love, love, love Luna's role in this. It's so absolutely Luna, Pidders and all, and then to find out she's dead and doing it all from the afterlife-- The heartache is equal amounts sadness and admiration and glee. She's one wonderful lady!
Severus's portrayal was wonderful as well, so in character despite being, well, out of character. Well, the opening lines made me laugh, because really - "and a rooster doesn't rhyme with anything"? Oh, Severus. :D Scolding the chicken, seeing through Luna's disguise.. the whole bit, and then learning it was all an elaborate figment with bits of reality added thanks to Luna... This sort of fic is why I adore him. :)
Harry's role was seemingly small and yet.. really the underlying thread of the whole thing. Just because he's not physically there doesn't mean you can't seem him there, if you look back over after you see what Luna's done... And the sheer improvement in him between when Severus sees him through his dream/not-dream and a few days later and eee. See what a little hope can do for a body? ♥!
Honestly though.. I think the quilt was the best touch. The absolute crown to a wonderful fic. :)
I very much love this fic, and wish I could express a lot more clearly just why it's so good that I read it slow and savoringly and am left with a soft smile and happy, full heart. Thanks so much for a lovely read!
