Gorgeous writing. Your witty way with words had me smiling the whole time while reading, and somehow the humorous, decidedly unsentimental storytelling made Severus and Harry’s unusual situation appear all the more endearing and poignant. I got the feeling that, despite his boisterous demeanour and complaints, the visit from Harry’s Patronus was quite serendipitous for Severus in his lonely exile. He certainly found a way to make the most of his pregnancy with little difficulty. *g* And it was lovely to see how quickly Harry’s shock at the news faded away and how comfortable he became with having Severus as a houseguest after his initial annoyance.
I was delighted that both Severus and Harry got a chance to shine when it came to providing enjoyable thoughts and excellent banter. I loved your observant Harry and the relative ease with which he was able to recognize most of Severus’ moods and motives even as he remained oblivious to Severus’ attraction for him. All that touching, and it never occurred to Harry to contemplate anything sexual. No wonder Severus got frustrated hormonal after this:
“All you need is a handkerchief in your back pocket and you’ll have legions of queer Muggles trailing you everywhere you go.”
Harry smiled blithely. “That’s the idea.” He slipped his coat off the hook, tucked it over his arm. “Well, not the legions, but it is nice to have a choice, don’t you think?”
Snape opened his mouth, but no sound emerged. It was actually rather comical. Then he turned and swept from the room.
Harry sniggered to himself as he stepped out into the night.
*giggles* Judging by his reaction, Severus hadn’t even realized Harry was gay.
