Loved this! Everything was beautifully crafted, from the description of Severus as a plant, Harry's drunken ramblings, and Hermione's no-nonsence chiding, to the absolutely wonderfully written characterisations. I particularly like these lines:
'He didn’t know if he should be proud he had such a thoughtful, caring daughter, or embarrassed that an adolescent Hufflepuff felt the need to protect him.'
and,
'He was inordinately grateful for that – he didn’t think he could handle tossing off to thoughts of a potted plant, no matter who might be hidden inside it.'
