The aftermath is often worse than the crisis. It is good that Severus remembers it. ...the fighting never hurt as much as the healing afterwards. It will hopefully arm him with the patience to teach Harry that he is more than Dumbledore's pawn, the light's weapon, the Savior of the wizarding world. Starting by teaching him that he is a lover is a good way to start. You manage to depict Harry's crushing depression, his complete lack of a sense of self, and on the other hand, you are able to let us see a bright sliver of light in the overwhelming darkness that leaves us with a sense of hope, all in less than 2000 words. Pretty darn good!
