torino10154 @ 08:55 pm: Challenge #835: Snape and Voter Suppression
The Wizarding World is rather archaic in many ways and voting may be one of them. Whether it's votes in the Wizengamot, on the Board of Directors for Hogwarts or in some other area, is voter suppression a problem? Would Snape feel strongly about representation... or not? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Voter Suppression.

torino10154 @ 08:36 pm: Challenge #830: Snape and Epidemics
Our understanding of the wizarding world is that they are immune to Muggle illness but surely there must be epidemics that run rampant through the community. How would Snape handle a situation like that either at Hogwarts or in the greater wizarding world? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Epidemics.

torino10154 @ 05:30 pm: Challenge #826: "Snapely Holiday Traditions: Plough Monday"
Your back-up mod completely flaked on her duties. Deepest apologies.

For the final holiday tradition, we look at Plough Monday, the traditional start of the agricultural year in England, usually the Monday after Epiphany and marking the end of the holidays. Would Snape be glad to get back to work after the festive holiday season? However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Plough Monday.

torino10154 @ 09:18 pm: Challenge #797: "Snape and Movie Blockbusters: Star Wars"
Star Wars premiered when Snape was a teenager. Would he have been interested in going to see the film or was it entirely too Muggle for him?

However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Movie Blockbusters: Star Wars.

torino10154 @ 06:15 pm: Challenge #795: "Snape and Movie Blockbusters: Jurassic Park"
Jurassic Park is this week's blockbuster film. Would the scientific side of Severus be interested or would he critique it like a poorly written article in Potions Monthly?

However you see it, this week we'll discuss Snape and Movie Blockbusters: Jurassic Park.

(Remember: drabble posts now appear on livejournal and insanejournal and dreamwidth.

Also, remember that if you're an artist who would like to offer a drawble instead of a drabble, feel free
)

Challenge #443: "Summer Olympic Games" This week's challenge asks you to write a drabble featuring some reference to any of the 26 Sports that are part of the modern Summer Olympics. I recognize that it's...unlikely, let's say, that Severus Snape would be participating in the Olympics - or any sport at all, for that matter - so feel free to treat this challenge as metaphorically as you wish, just as long as your drabble/drawble focuses on Severus Snape and the Summer Olympic Games.

Challenge #442: "No Exit" This week's challenge asks you to write a drabble featuring a "No Exit" scenario. Imagine Snape and the character(s) of your choice trapped somewhere (anywhere!). Magic won't let them escape, and so they're forced to spend time together - like it or not. Note: Being trapped in this manner doesn't have to be dangerous and it doesn't have to be permanent.

Challenge #441: "Heat" The bite of a chili pepper, the basketball team from Miami, the period of increased sexual drive in animals, the the way it feels inside my house right this minute because we don't have an air conditioner omg!...any definition of "heat" is fine as the foundation for your drabble/drawble as long as it focuses on heat and Severus Snape.

Challenge #440: "Fairy Tales: Rapunzel" This week's challenge is the fifth and last in a series of Fairy Tale prompts, this week: Rapunzel. Magically long hair, a Prince with a rescue mission, witches imprisoning an innocent in a tower...feel free to write/draw whatever you want, as long as your drabble/drawble focuses on Rapunzel and Severus Snape.

Challenge #439: "Fairy Tales: Little Red Riding Hood" This week's challenge is the fourth in a series of Fairy Tale prompts, this week: Little Red Riding Hood. Gryffindor-red capes, trips through the Forbidden Forest, visits to grandmother's house, Remus Lupin or Fenrir Greyback in the role of the wolf...whatever you want as long as the focus of your drabble/drawble is on Little Red Riding Hood and Severus Snape.

Challenge #438: "Fairy Tales: Hansel and Gretel" This week's challenge is the third in a series of Fairy Tale prompts, this week: Hansel and Gretel. Honeydukes feasts in the Forbidden Forest, evil (or not so evil) Witches or Wizards as heads of tasty Hogwarts Houses, parents abandoning children in the woods...whatever you want is fine, as long as your drabble focuses on Severus Snape and Hansel & Gretel.

Challenge #437: "Fairy Tales: Beauty and the Beast" This week's challenge is the second in a series of Fairy Tale prompts, this week: Beauty and the Beast. Feel free to use Harry's none-too-complimentary descriptions of Snape or re-imagine Severus as the "Beauty" of your drabble, at least from somebody's perspective.

(Remember: drabble posts now appear on livejournal and insanejournal and dreamwidth.

Also, remember that if you're an artist who would like to offer a drawble instead of a drabble, feel free
)

Challenge #436: "Fairy Tales: Snow white" Because the last time snape100 had a prompt related to fairy tales was 2004 (and because I saw Snow White and the Huntsman yesterday), this week's challenge is the first in a series of Fairy Tale prompts, this one focusing on Severus Snape and Snow White. Kid!Snape reads a version of the story or is taken to the Disney cartoon? Something involving a wicked witch or a poisoned apple? Snape cast as the handsome prince (or the magic portrait mirror)...whatever you want as long as your drabble somehow relates to Snape and the fairy tale Snow white.

(Remember: drabble posts now appear on livejournal and insanejournal and dreamwidth.

Also, remember that if you're an artist who would like to offer a drawble instead of a drabble, feel free
)

--->APOLOGIES FOR HAVING FORGOTTEN ENTIRELY ABOUT A CHALLENGE LAST WEEK!

Challenge #435: "Snape and the River Lethe" Because I clearly drank from the waters of the Lethe last week, this week's challenge is to write a drabble that draws in some way on the legends surrounding the Lethe, one of the five rivers of the Underworld in Classical Greek mythology. Those who drink from the Lethe are thought to experience complete forgetfulness, and while you needn't pay attention to the word "complete," surely there are one or two things Severus might want to forget - or a few things that he might want others to forget.

(Remember: drabble posts now appear on livejournal and insanejournal and dreamwidth.

Also, remember that if you're an artist who would like to offer a drawble instead of a drabble, feel free

Challenge #434: "Snape's Superhero AU" Not at all inspired by the recent release of The Avengers (*is lying*), this week's challenge asks you to write a drabble in which you re-imagine Severus Snape as a superhero. He can have the powers we see in canon (magic, flying, Super Snark!) or entirely different powers and abilities, as long as he's still recognizable as Snape!

(Remember: drabble posts now appear on livejournal and insanejournal and dreamwidth.

Also, remember that if you're an artist who would like to offer a drawble instead of a drabble, feel free

Challenge #433: "...May Flowers" Almost everybody knows the old rhyme: "April Showers bring May Flowers," which - although not strictly accurate in every part of the world, is most certainly appropriate for the Snape part of the world. So! This week's challenge is to write a drabble focusing on Snape and flowers - any kind of flowers (and that includes any of the flower-named women of the HP universe: Lily, Petunia, Pansy, Rose Weasley, etc..). Needless to say, Flowers-as-Potions-Ingredients are always welcome.

(Remember: drabble posts now appear on livejournal and insanejournal and dreamwidth.

Also, remember that if you're an artist who would like to offer a drawble instead of a drabble, feel free

Challenge #432: "Snape and...the Ship" Last week, MA left a comment reminding me about the 100th anniversary of the Titanic having just passed, wondering if "someone would suggest "Snape and Titanic." If ever anyone felt like this life was a sinking ship . . ." So! This week, there are two main options for the 'Snape and the Ship' challenge.

a. The Titanic (time travel, visiting an exhibition, something more metaphoric)
b. The Ships or rather, the five most popular Snape 'ships,' which would seem to be Snape/Harry, Snape/Lupin, Snape/Hermione, Snape/Lily, Snape/Lucius. Any - or all - of these are fair game.

bethbethbeth @ 10:05 am: Challenge #431: "Three (Black) Sisters"
(Remember: drabble posts now appear on livejournal and insanejournal and dreamwidth)

Challenge #431: "Three (Black) Sisters" This week's challenge is prompted by the fact that I'm about to go see Chekhov's play (...in Russian...which I don't speak *g*). You can set your drabble in any era, using any pov as long as the focus is on Severus Snape and at least one of the three Black sisters: Andromeda Black Tonks, Bellatrix Black Lestrange, or Narcissa Black Malfoy.

Note: starting this week, if you're an artist who would like to offer a drawble instead of a drabble, feel free (thanks to sealcat for giving me this idea)
