Septima had worn movie-inspired costumes before – she had finally admitted to “cosplaying” Luke Skywalker’s mother during one of Minerva’s weekly sherry and conversation gatherings for faculty and staff – but this was an order of magnitude beyond that. Her take on one of Batman’s villains was sleek, black, and included both high heels and (dear God!) a whip of some sort, and Severus genuinely began to stammer when she sashayed up and took his arm.
There was an audible gulp from Argus Filch, followed by a yelp as Mrs. Norris sank her claws into his hand. Minerva didn’t blame her.
