Note: this is inspired by the incident a few years ago when Ireland’s entry into the Eurovision Song Contest was Dustin the Turkey.
It’s also yet another Motherless Child ficlet, because I can’t seem to quit those two no matter how much I try. This time it’s when Snape and Lupin are dating but Lupin still lives in Mayfair while Severus boards at Hogwarts.
“And in a stunning development, Ruritanian favourite Osra von Tarlenheim developed laryngitis on stage, fainted, and finished the next round with only one point!” The picture cut to film of the Ruritanian singer slumped in a chair as a nurse took her pulse. “This allowed the plucky Welshman Aneurin Davies-Owens to earn a well-deserved twelve points, sending Britain into the next round!”
Remus held out his hand over two portions of pub grub as the picture cut to the triumphant Briton. Severus gripped it and they shook. “Your cousin is well?”
“Oh, more than well.” Remus grinned. “Very well indeed.”
