Unfortunately, I have little choice.” Minerva looked the conference table up and down, noting which of the young faculty flinched as the cuckoo left the clock and flew about calling the hour. “The Board of Governors have scheduled an inspection for Friday.”
“An inspection?” said someone.
“The first in years,” said Minerva.
Professor Granger's eyes widened. Professor Longmeadow visibly blanched. Even Filius Flitwick looked alarmed. Only Severus Snape, who walked with a limp and had to use a Sonorus in his lectures, wore his normal, slightly annoyed expression.
