The other ghosts were equally unresponsive, even though it was clear that they knew that something was afoot. Umbridge's ravings were increasingly unhinged, to the point where Severus was on the verge of telling her to shut it and be damned to the consequences. Something had to give.
Then Severus overheard two Ravenclaws muttering about “a meeting of the DA,” and he knew he had to act before someone with ulterior motives did.
“Pay attention, Weasley,” he said later that day, leaning close enough to brush tracking solution on the boy's robes. “Or it's even more points from Gryffindor.”
