“You handled the Malfoys well,” said the Countess as Severus brought in a pot of tea as perfectly brewed as any potion. “Narcissa is tolerable, but Lucius is another matter.”
Severus shook his head. “There's no need to discuss him, Madam. His role in my life is over.”
“As is fitting! I at least was a Squib, but Lucius was directly responsible - “
“For bringing me to a better existence than the Wizarding World would have allowed me.” It had taken years for Severus to realize this, but it was true. “Tea, Madam?”
