Madam Sosostris was not what Severus had expected. Despite her advanced age, her complexion was smooth, her eyes shrewd, and her hair its natural color. Her consulting rooms were simply decorated and spotlessly clean, and whatever incense she used was subtle and invigorating.
“Ah, Mr. Snape,” she said as he took his seat across from her. “Sybil told me to expect you.”
“Did she tell you this was her idea?” Severus could not meet her eyes. “With all due respect - “
“A skill is a skill, Mr. Snape. Knowledge is always useful,” she said, smiling slightly.
