Note: this is yet another Motherless Child story, where Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a young werewolf. This is set about two years after they move in together but a few months before they adopt their son.
The greenhouse remained in the budget along with fixed expenses, but the swimming pool went on hold. Food was no problem – Minerva had opened the High Table to faculty spouses long since, and Remus counted as far as she was concerned, God bless her practical Scottish heart – and they had a well stocked wine cellar. Neither needed new clothing as long as the jumpers Remus had relied on during the War held out.
They cut, and cut...and were still short.
“Perhaps I could get a full time job?” Remus said at last. “Flourish and Blotts is hiring.”
