Note: this is yet another Motherless Child story, where Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a young werewolf. This is set about two years after they move in together but a few months before they adopt their son.

Remus gave Severus' hand a squeeze, fingers lightly sweeping across the palm and wrist in the old Order code: Bad sleep?
Severus drew a sign across the other man's knuckles: spell, not sleep!
Remus' fingers tapped out true, then couldn't hurt. Then, before Severus could protest, he had accepted the literature, thanked the clerk, and scooped up their grocery bags.
“Let's at least see what they have to say, love,” he said, and Severus considered hexing him.
