Note: this is yet another Motherless Child story, where Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a young werewolf. This is set about two years after they move in together but a few months before they adopt their son.
Watching Remus reorganize, discard, and replace the contents of the pantry was eerily reminiscent of the day Severus' cousin Gemma had shown up, broom in hand, and gone through the kitchen at Spinner's End with the precision and discipline of an angry drill sergeant.
“You haven't eaten right since your mam died, and I won't have it,” Gemma had said, glaring at a stale package of Jaffa cakes, and Severus had been too stunned to object.
“You – we - need more protein,” said Remus, then chucked Severus' emergency supply of ramen into the bin. “Shopping list, please.”
