The Shell Cottage lavender was beautiful, the foliage a deep green, the blossoms richly colored. Severus put one sprig in a vase, then went to work stripping and processing the rest. Soon his laboratory smelt of the sea as the lavender tinctures bubbled away.
Hours later he made his way out to the greenhouses. Pomona's apprentice waited for him in the dark.
“Well?”
“I've done what I can. The rest is up to you.” Severus handed the memory potion to Frank and Alice's son. “Good luck.”
“Thank you,” said Neville, and activated the Portkey to St. Mungo's.
