He'd thought it would be easy.
He'd thought enough time had passed.
He'd thought the pain had receded into history.
He was wrong.
“Severus?” Remus, steady and calm, had not left his side from the moment the students had passed through the gates of Nurmengard. “Are you all right?”
Severus set his jaw as the Hogwarts students moved through the courtyard. It wasn't Sachsenhausen, his uncle had been executed by Muggles, Grindelwald wasn't a Nazi, why did he feel like the walls were closing in -
“No,” he said, and forced down the urge to bolt. “I'm not.”
