The tent was comfortable even if it was small, even the camp cots that would be their beds. Severus sat outside while his father smoked a cigarette and his mother paid for their visit. The air was fresh and cool, and he closed his eyes to listen to rush of wind through the trees.
“Sev?” His father stubbed out his cigarette and held out his hand. “Time for a hike, eh? Just the two of us.”
“A hike?” Severus scrambled to his feet, awkward in his Muggle jeans and shirt. “Where?”
Da pointed at the woods. “There.”
