The silence was deafening. Potter shoved his glasses up his nose and stared at Severus. “Some of the Slytherins were convinced of it, you know. The way you favored Draco.”
Severus rolled his eyes. “Draco is far more intelligent, and far more sensitive, than anyone realizes. His father treated him more like a trophy than a child – did you know he had his own wing at Malfoy Manor instead of staying near his parents? Narcissa did what she could, but Lucius cared more about his position in society than his son.”
“I didn't know that.”
“Most people don't.”
