Note: this is set in the same timeline as Motherless Child, where Snape and Lupin have married and adopted a child. This is set around a year later.
Choosing a tour and arranging for childcare took nearly a week, but two days after the end of term they checked into their hotel (spectacular views of the mighty city and the looming cliffs), enjoyed a luxurious meal, and indulged in adult activities until they were too exhausted to move.
The next day was a customized tour, more excellent food, and more adult activities. It was well after dark when their guide led them across the Hudson to the Tenafly Breeding Grounds.
“Happy anniversary to us,” murmured Remus as the monsters rose from the woods.
“Yes,” said Severus.
