The goat pen was surprisingly clean given its purpose, and there was plenty of water, food, and clean straw. There was even a little shelter where Grumble could (and presumably did, judging by the smell) take shelter in bad weather. “This all looks in order.”

“He don't,” grunted Aberforth. He gestured at the goat, a piebald specimen with a pinched expression. “You're a healer, second class, and - “

“I am not a veterinarian. How should I know what's wrong?” Despite himself, Severus dropped into a crouch and stared into the golden eyes. “Perhaps he's merely bored.”
