“You wished to see me, Headmistress?” The teapot trundled over to Severus as he took his seat and poured him a steaming cup.
“It's nothing major.” Minerva gave the teapot an affectionate pat as it shuffled back onto its tray. “Simply a question about a budget item.”
“A budget item?” Severus took a sip of lapsang souchong. “My estimates for components were in line with last year.”
“It's not the components,” Minerva replied. “It's the safety equipment. Are new vents truly necessary?”
“We're brewing Draught of the Living Death this year. Need I say more?”
